Brown Trout (Code 302) - Salmo trutta:
The Brown Trout is widely distributed across Europe and is the native English wild Trout. It is possibly the most important single sport species and good examples may be over eighteen inches in length.
Trout Live in moving waters and spawning takes place in winter usually on gravel banks. Whilst colouring may vary according to habitat, there area always dark spots on the back often with a light halo and typically a golden silvery belly.
